Your digital record is scattered\n\nYour information already exists across messages, apps, documents, photos, cloud storage and the systems you use every day.\n\nBut it is fragmented, stored in different formats, and often controlled by the applications holding it.\n\nHaving information somewhere is not the same as having a usable record you control.\n\n## 2. More context is not better context\n\nAI needs the right context - not simply more of it.\n\nThat creates three problems of its own:\n\n- **Retrieval** - finding the right knowledge for the job at hand.\n- **Truth** - keeping what actually happened separate from what was inferred, summarised or assumed.\n- **Change** - allowing old knowledge to be corrected, replaced or retired as things evolve.\n\nAn AI can produce a convincing interpretation and still get part of it wrong.\n\nIf that interpretation later becomes indistinguishable from fact, bad context will result in worse answers.\n\n## 3. Doing this properly becomes infrastructure\n\nYou can start with folders, notes or a database.\n\nBut once AI is expected to rely on the information - or you want to share parts of it safely - structure, permissions, privacy, origin, security, identity, change and access control stop being optional.\n\n## This is the problem Lattris is designed to solve.\n\nLattris gives a person a place to hold their knowledge in a form AI can use, while keeping ownership and control with the person who created it.\n\nKeep it private.\n\nUse it with the AI you choose.\n\nShare specific parts with people you trust.\n\nPublish what you want.\n\nTake access back when you choose.","capturedAt":"2026-08-31T02:44:23.797Z","createdAt":"2026-08-31T02:44:23.798Z","updatedAt":"2026-09-04T02:23:16.430Z","spanId":null,"contributor":null,"audiences":[{"kind":"public","createdAt":"2026-09-02T12:11:18.703Z"}]},"links":[{"direction":"out","verb":"references","reason":"only if you now need the vocabulary a block is built from: what a memory is made of, and how far a claim may be taken","node":{"id":"e3db2eb8-3b6e-4a6f-992f-c79f832d1209","handle":"e3db","type":"note","title":"The model — what a memory is made of","aiSummary":"The full vocabulary, intent first: how far a record was taken, then blocks and types, sessions, spans versus topics, edges and verbs, and people.","href":"https://lattris.com/api/lattris/by/4/memories/e3db2eb8-3b6e-4a6f-992f-c79f832d1209?links=1"}},{"direction":"in","verb":"references","reason":"only if you need why Lattris exists, or what stands between AI and what you know","node":{"id":"43fffd4b-9661-47dc-a173-7fd01f5d010b","handle":"43ff","type":"note","title":"Lattris — a memory store for your life","aiSummary":"What Lattris is, for a person and for the AI they bring: knowledge held as linked blocks the person owns, how this tree is read, and where everything else lives.
